Converting from SUBAUID to SUBPUID

Mon, Oct 13, 2008

Program Tips & Guidelines

Partners who used the SUBAUID function on the old Affiliate platform should now use the SUBPUID function on the new partner platform.

The function is basically the same but the URL construction has changed due to the Partner taxonomy.

For detailed information on the SUBPUID function, click here.

The SUBPUID parameter is ‘SUBPUID=<parameter>’ and needs to be added to the end of the URL link. The SUBPUID parameter needs to proceed a ‘?’ in most cases.

IMPORTANT: If the page URL already contains a ‘?’, then the ‘&’ should be used.

Here are conversion examples:

OLD Affiliate URL (home page):

http://www.affiliate.viator.com/welcome.jsp?AUID=9999&SUBAUID=1234567

NEW Partner URL (home page):

http://www.partner.viator.com/en/9999?SUBPUID=1234567

OLD Affiliate URL (Sydney page):

http://www.affiliate.viator.com/brochure/ed_PRODUCT_results.jsp?CITY=SYDNEY&L=MOSTPOP&AUID=9999&SUBAUID=1234567

NEW Partner URL (Sydney page):

http://www.partner.viator.com/en/9999/Sydney/d357-ttd?SUBPUID=1234567

NEW Partner URL (Sydney page - sorted by Rating):

http://www.partner.viator.com/en/5201/Australia-and-the-Pacific/d3-ttd?sortBy=REVIEW_AVG_RATING-D&SUBPUID=1234567

NOTE: The ‘?’ exists already in the URL above, so append the SUBPUID with ‘&’

The SUBPUID will show on the linked URL, but will be carried in the background when customers click off to another Viator page.
